Dental Crowns & Bridges

Dental Crowns: What are They?

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps that are used to fortify and build up teeth. Dental crowns cover the visible portion of a damaged tooth. Crowns are used to strengthen teeth that are chipped, broken, or decayed. They can also greatly enhance the appearance of the tooth and improve your smile aesthetic.

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Dental crowns:

  • Look natural and attractive
  • Support teeth that are weak and broken
  • Restore your chewing ability and bite force
  • Can also cover up unsightly or failing dental work

Dental Crown Placement

During your first dental crown visit, Dr. Randall will examine your teeth and take impressions. The impressions will be used to fashion your dental crown in a lab.

When you return to our office, Dr. Randall will ensure that your new crown fits you well. He will then permanently cement the crown to the tooth. You’ll leave our office with a stronger and better-looking smile!

Dental Bridges: What are They?

Every tooth is crucial for easy speaking, painless chewing, and a beautiful smile. When you are missing a tooth, you are not receiving all of the benefits of a full and complete smile.

Dental bridges are formed by two dental crowns and a pontic (a realistic replacement tooth). The crowns are placed over two teeth on either side of a gap. The pontic will fill in the space between the crowned abutment teeth to restore your perfect smile.

Perks of Dental Bridges

Dental bridges:

  • Prevent the remainder of your smile from shifting and becoming crooked
  • Allow you to chew, speak, and smile with ease
  • Protect and strengthen the abutment teeth
  • Return your confident and beautiful smile

Placing Dental Bridges

Dr. Nick Randall uses dental bridges to successfully correct tooth loss. He will prepare the abutment teeth and take impressions of your smile. When your customized dental bridge is ready to go, your dentist will bond the bridge into place.
